Jesus's Greatest Sermon

In the Sermon on the Mount and Sermon on the Plain, Jesus gave His disciples and crowds His greatest sermon.[1] First, Jesus taught that blessed and spiritually happy are those that are humble in spirit with obedience to the Sovereign LORD God and devoid of arrogance and pride because theirs are the Kingdom of Heaven.[2] Next, Jesus proclaimed that blessed and refreshed with God’s grace are those that cry out, weep, and mourn over their sins with repentance (turning from Satan’s evildoing) for they will be comforted with joy and laughter when the burdens of their sins are forgiven and lifted by His Holy Father – the Sovereign LORD God.[3] Furthermore, Jesus taught that blessed with inner peace are those that are gentle, humble, patient, and kind-hearted with a sweet spirit that trusts in the Sovereign LORD God for they will inherit the earth.[4] Moreover, Jesus declared that blessed with joy and God’s goodness are those that actively hunger and thirst for righteousness before the Sovereign LORD God for they shall be completely satisfied.[5]Likewise, Jesus taught that blessed with shelter by the Sovereign LORD God’s promises are the merciful that show kindness and forgiveness towards others for they shall receive mercy.[6] In addition, Jesus stated that blessed are the pure in heart with truth, moral courage, and godly character for they will see the Sovereign LORD God and come into His Presence.[7] Even more, Jesus declared that blessed with life-joy and God’s favor (grace) are those that seek peace and are peacemakers for they will be called the Sovereign LORD God’s sons and daughters.[8] Finally, Jesus taught that blessed with the Sovereign LORD God’s comfort and inner peace are those that are persecuted, falsely accused, and mistreated for doing and teaching what is right and good and obeying Him for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven both now and forever.[9]
